HRT & Peptide Care

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about hormone therapy, peptide therapy, weight loss, and how virtual appointments work.

Bioidentical hormones are plant-derived and structurally identical to the hormones your body naturally produces. BHRT is used to bring hormone levels back toward a healthy range with the goal of relieving symptoms. Treatment is personalized based on your symptoms and lab results.

Hormone replacement therapy is an established treatment for menopause symptoms when prescribed by a trained provider and monitored with lab work. Like any medical treatment it carries real risks as well as benefits, and it is not right for everyone — the balance depends on your personal health history, the type of hormone, the dose, and when therapy is started. Modern evidence supports HRT for many patients, particularly when started within 10 years of menopause onset, and your provider will discuss the risks and benefits specific to your health history before anything is prescribed.

Bioidentical hormones have the same molecular structure as your body’s own hormones, while synthetic hormones have a different structure. Bioidentical options are available both as FDA-approved products and as customized compounded preparations; compounded preparations are made by a licensed pharmacy for an individual patient and are not FDA-approved as finished products. All hormone therapy carries risks and benefits, and your provider will discuss which option fits your needs.

No. You do not need labs before your first visit. We’ll discuss your symptoms and health history during your consultation and determine which labs to order. If you have recent lab results from another provider, you’re welcome to bring those and we’ll review them together.

We are a cash-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. This allows us to spend more time with each patient and avoid the limitations insurance companies place on treatment options. Visits are typically HSA/FSA-eligible, and we can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

Many patients begin to notice improvement within the first several weeks of starting treatment, and benefits often continue to build over the following months — but timelines vary from person to person, and some patients need dose adjustments before they feel their best. Your provider will monitor your progress and adjust your treatment as needed. Individual results vary.

Yes. We prescribe GLP-1 receptor agonists including tirzepatide and semaglutide for qualifying patients. Your provider will evaluate whether these medications are appropriate during your weight loss consultation.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules in the body. Therapeutic peptides can support recovery, sleep quality, immune health, and cellular repair. They are used in functional and regenerative medicine to optimize health beyond what traditional hormone replacement addresses.

We treat symptoms of hormonal decline in both men and women, including fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, low libido, mood changes, poor recovery, sleep disruption, joint pain, and muscle loss. We also provide peptide therapy for immune support, longevity, and cellular repair.

Have a list of your current medications and supplements ready. Note your symptoms and when they started. If you have recent lab results from another provider, have them accessible. Find a private, quiet space with a good internet connection for your video visit.

Absolutely. If you have recent lab results, we’re happy to review them. Bring them to your consultation and we’ll determine whether additional testing is needed based on what’s already been done.
